Best Vintage Basketball Jerseys (A Review)

As a basketball fan, I am really happy that vintage basketball Jersey still existed. I put months into best Jersey designs, and throwback designed Jerseys are not easy to find. People have to make something that is simple, but yet complex. Vintage basketball jerseys are not an easy combination to work with.

When it comes to modern jerseys, the Miami Heat city jersey just absolutely caught my eyes. The color on the jersey is beautiful and so precise. Besides that jersey, I am more of an old school Jersey guy. I like collecting old jerseys because it will remind me of the time period when a certain player is dominating the league.

Swingman VS. Authentic Jerseys

Swingman-The swingman will have a little tab on the bottom.
-Weights less.
-300$ or less.
Authentic Jersey-The authentic jersey will usually have a patch sewn on the bottom.
-More silver tone in the middle.
-300$ or more.
-Collector item.
My overall perspective of this is that there will be customers for both of them. The Swingman jersey is just for looks and comfort, but the authentic jersey is more of a collector item.

Cotton or Polyester?

Durability: Cotton will wear out over time a lot more easily than polyester. Which it’s really important when it comes to sports, we are always active and moving around. Our garments need to be able to match our needs when it comes to stretch or movement.

Temperature Regulation: We spell sweat through the surface of our skin and the process of evaporation. Cotton is very breathable, however, it absorbs moisture. Polyester is more thermal constricting up until a certain point, but it will allow you to quickly sweat away.

The main difference you need to know about these two fiber types is that cotton is a natural fiber, and polyester is a man-made/synthetic fiber made in labs. Cotton is much more suitable for neutral climates. Polyester on the other hand is going to be more suitable for hot climates.

1. Men’s O’Neal Jersey Sports #32 Jerseys Shaquille Basketball Blue White and Black Jersey

  • Imported
  • Material: 100% Polyester
  • Lightweight and machine washable
  • Embroidered name and number

This piece of the jersey is fire. The thickness around the jersey gives an extra boost. Even Though this jersey is not authentic. The color with the blue and white straps is really clean. On the back, it has O’neal and number 32, and on the front, it has Orlondo and number 32. This jersey is 100% polyester and it resembles when Shaq played for the Magic.

2. Mitchell & Ness Vince Carter Toronto Raptors Purple

  • Heat-Pressed Graphics
  • 100% Polyester Mesh
  • Hardwood Classics Jock Tag
  • Officially Licensed Merchandise

No one can really hate on this jersey. The team name and the number are stitched. Purple and the red colorway go so while together. The raptor hoping makes this jersey stand out more than others. I can’t complain too much about this jersey, but I guess the only bad thing about it is that you cannot overwash it. This jersey is mainly just for looks.

3. 1997-98 Throwback Swingman Basketball Jersey

  • Breathable, Quick Dry
  • Machine Washable
  • Name and Numbers: Stitched
  • 100% Polyester

This jersey is like Nike swingman, it has three different yarns. The white, black, and red colorway just never go wrong. You can style this jersey better than the other ones because of its color. The NBA logo is stitched on to the fabric, and the width of this jersey is matching. Overall, a great jersey, nothing to complain about.

4. Lebron James Cleveland Cavaliers #23

  • 100% Polyester
  • Officially licensed by the NBA
  • V-neck jersey
  • Adidas logo on front

It’s hard to see but the number is stitched on. The NBA logo is almost like rubber material. I really enjoy the back of this jersey, the number 23, and James makes this jersey look fantastic. I am not a big fan of LeBron, but everything he has done for the game of basketball is insane. On the front, it has Cleveland and number 23 stitched on there. The material they used for this jersey is really lovely.

Conclusion:

Sizing Tip: Products runs small. We recommend ordering one size larger than you normally wear. Get a bigger size can also help you style the jersey better. Many of us don’t actually play in jerseys, but it can be a sign on the courts.
