Growing up as a Hooper,  I use to carry multiple balls with me wherever I play basketball. But that never stopped me from playing cause I always had the heart. Recommended for youth around 9 – 11

standard women ball, boys 12 – 14

Recommended for men and boys 15 years or older

Nike Elite Champion - Indoor

  • Nike Brand
  • Great indoor ball
  • Good material
  • Airlock technology

So this is the ball I am currently using right now. The Nike elite is one of my favorite balls, the rubber is nice and soft. Although I do feel like this ball is a little heavier than the other ones. Another piece of technology about this ball is the AIRLOCK TECHNOLOGY (It does not lose air pressure much). That is the other good thing about Nike balls it is really consistent.

Wilson Evolution - Indoor

  • Solid wilson design
  • Everyone loves it
  • Really soft leather
  • Great training ball/game

In my opinion, this ball is always a solid basketball. This ball is the most popular and wildly used basketball in pick up games or any type of league. Evolution is probably one of the softest basketball. The leather feels really nice and it is easy to grip. The only thing bad about this ball is that it takes a while to break it in. This is definitely one of the top indoor basketball.

Wilson wave - Indoor

  • Wave design
  • Really easy grip
  • Multiple grooves
  • Wildly used in the gym

The Wilson wave is one of the funny-looking balls. It had three extra grooves in each panel. So there are 24 GROOVES right down the basketball. This large number of grooves will help you get a better grip on the ball. This is a really good ball for beginners or kids. With this ball, it will help you to grip on when you are shooting or creating a shot. I would say use it if you are training for your shots or for young kids that need that extra grip.

TF-1000 Legacy - Indoor

  • Deep channel design
  • Really slippery
  • Nice training ball
  • Spalding legacy

After all the reviews I read online. I see people do not like this ball as much as the other. This ball has a really cool feature called the DEEP CHANNEL DESIGN. I am not a big fan of the TF-1000 because the ball is slippery, but that is just me. Some players might like it better like that. It is definitely an elite training ball.

Wilson Evo NXT Indoor Game Basketball

  • Official NCAA ball
  • Heavy
  • Wide grooves
  • High price

I did not get a chance to play with this a lot, but it does have some pretty good reviews. It is the ball they play with during big matches, so it got to be a solid ball. The groove is kind of big, and it does feel more rubbery than a Wilson evolution. I do feel like the ball is rougher to shoot with compare to the other ones. It is a pretty expensive ball, so if you are on a budget list, this is not the ball.

How much should you spend on a indoor or outdoor ball?

The main difference between an indoor or an outdoor basketball coincides with the material it uses. If you have ever gone to a local gym. You will notice the basketball’s surface feels softer and much nicer than an outdoor ball. That is because outdoor ball focus less on the feel and grip than on durability. Since now you have the main idea of both different basketballs.

Let’s talk about the price range. Indoor basketball can cost quite a bit. It depends on how much money you want to spend and how high the quality of the ball you want to play with. For an indoor ball, the price range should be around 45$-65$. For outdoor balls, you can typically get a decent ball for 25-40 dollars.

Nike Lebron James basketball - Outdoor

  • Many different colorways
  • Hard rubber
  • LeBron’s signature ball
  • Cool Nike design

The first big plus about this basketball is the price. The other ball is generally around the same price. The wrap-around panel construction is very interesting. It takes a while to break it in. Overall, this is a great ball for the kids who like LeBron James, this is his signature ball. It comes in a variety of colors.

Under Armor 695 Basketball - Indoor/outdoor

  • Under amour design
  • nice soft rubber
  • takes time to break it in
  • Durability

The 695 basketball is cover in a special UA grip skin composite material, which feels just like an indoor ball in your hand. The deep groove helps you get a good grip on the ball. On first shoes, the ball does feel a little heavy right out of the box. It simply takes a little time to break it in. Once you break it in, you will get extended use of the ball. This basketball might be the most durable outdoor ball on the market. Overall this is an excellent ball for outdoor.

Baden Elite - Indoor/outdoor

  • Super smooth rubber
  • For players who have soft hands
  • Wide groove
  • For indoor and outdoor

This one of the other balls I am personally using right now. The Baden basketball is mad buttery, it is so smooth and soft. The feeling of it feels really nice, the leather is soft. The Baden just feels different from other basketball. I would say Baden Elite is not for everybody. If you are a beginner or kids under 13. Please check out other basketballs.

  • Awesome 12 panel design
  • Great outdoor basketball
  • Easy to dribble
  • Super bounce

This one of the best balls you will find for outdoor use. This ball has a great grip and feel, it helps you maximize your dribbling potential. The signature 12-panel design not only looks good but also provides a deeps groove for your fingers to rest in. It bounces much like an indoor basketball, and it will last you a long time. This might be My number one ball for outdoor.

  • NCAA outdoor ball
  • Price is low
  • Elite training ball
  • Easy to break it in

If you are on a budget list and looking for a cheap basketball for practice. This ball hits the spot. So this is a very minimum, and a very clean ball. I feel like the robber is not as thick as the Nike basketball, but they still do feel kind of nice. They are very firm, it does not take long to break it in.

Conclusion:

Both the outdoor and indoor ball has its pros and cons. All the balls I listed on this page are all pretty elite basketball. No matter if you are a beginner or an amateur player.
